History 

The Insulect Group is a dynamic and growing business with two manufacturing and distribution facilities in Melbourne and Brisbane. With investments in modern equipment, highly trained people and a commitment to continued improvement, Insulect is well placed to service all future challenges.

Strategically, Insulect has committed itself to building Empowered Partnerships within the industry through the investment in resources and the development of a culture of engaged, accountable employees. Effective governance and a structured organizational model have allowed us to embark on a journey of carefully managed growth.

Since 1993 several major partnerships have been established with Original Equipment Manufacturers in the Electrical Transformer and Motor industries supplying electrical, thermal and mechanical insulation materials.  Capital investment and resource building have culminated in the establishment of the Insulect Manufacturing division which provides a value added service throughout Australasia by converting materials into components and insulating systems.

Subsequently, a number of strategic investments have allowed Insulect to provide a more complete service to its customers by acquiring businesses that have close synergies to its own. These have included:

·        Precision Tube Winders producing convoluted Electrical Grade Crepe Paper tubes and the establishment of a Transformer protection and accessories division has allowed Insulect to provide a more complete package to the transformer industry.

·        HV Automation, a specialist supplier of Test, Measurement and Monitoring equipment provided Insulect with the opportunity to expand its operations into the end user market by providing services to Power Utilities, Power Generators, Mining, Industrial and Electrical Utility Contractors.

·        Austape: The expansion into the pressure sensitive adhesive tape industry has given Insulect access to the Aviation, Electrical, Arts and Entertainment industries.  A state-of-the-art conversion facility allows us to provide specialty adhesive tapes converted to exact requirements whilst adhering to just-in-time delivery principles.

Supported by its own in-house capabilities and representing some of the world's leading manufacturers the Insulect Group is strongly positioned to continue to provide superior products and services to the Australasian market.
