Durostone UPM S1 is a specially forumlated polyester glass composite offering a superior balance of mechanical and electrical properties that surpasses GPO-3 and moulded polyester glass products. This special material is a high pressure thermoset laminate consisting of a special polyester resin matrix reinforced with an e-glass roving mat manufactured to EN60893 / IEC893.

AS/NZS 614393.1 specifies three methods for verification - verification by testing, design rules, or assessment. These replace TTA and PTTA from AS/NZS 3439.

Durostone UPM S1 has passed the Glow Wire Test EN 60695-2-10, a critical aspect of AS/NZS 61439. Download the Test Report here.
Device substitution rules
Comparison with reference design according to AS/NZS 61439.1 introduces device substitution rules. The rules compare thermal properties and performance with a similar tested device withing a functional unit.
There is a 5 year transitional period between AS/NZS 3439 and AS/NZS 61439, which started after the standard was introduced in May 2016. During this time, compliant boards can be built to either standard.
