The rapidly evolving transformation of the the electric energy industry includes both technical and structural shifts which affect all parties involved in the related energy sectors. Around the theme of adaptation to a transformed industry, the conference aims to look at the ‘experience of businesses’ in relation to the ‘new types of generation and storage developments’.

The EESA NSW Annual Electric Conference 2018 ‘wants to give attendees the opportunity to engage with companies who provide equipment and/or services to the Electric Energy Businesses’ and for all to gauge the changes within the industry. Billed by EESA NSW/ACT Chapter Chair Jeff Allen as a ‘technical conference, providing ongoing professional development for technical people in the electric energy industry,’ it is an opportunity for Engineers Australia members to earn CPD points.

With three sessions, and planned presentations from senior utility managers including those from Essential Energy, Endeavour Energy, TransGrid and senior related business executives, below is a brief outline of headline events:

  • Keynote Address – Where are we at with the NEG/Finkel Plans – Dr Brian Spalding - AEMC;

  • Session 1 includes presentations on Microgrids, IOT, Battery technology, Smart Grids, Blockchains and Power Markets and is chaired by Terry Neimeier;
