Qualitrol STB000 Main Tank and LTC Transformer Breather
The Qualitrol STB series smart transformer breather removes moisture from air entering oil-filled transformers or LTC conservators.
The breather is automated to regenerate the silica gel desiccant at a user selectable time interval, relative humidity (RH) or PPM thresholds. Regenerating the silica gel automatically reduces unnecessary breather maintenance costs over time. Alarms and digital communications allow for remote monitoring of moisture levels and breather status.
Recommended for use on Medium/Large Transformers with a voltage of 1.38kV and above.
Moisture management in transformers
Excess moisture from the atmosphere may degrade a transformer bladder, oil and insulation system over time. This degradation causes unnecessary aging to the asset, reducing the overall life and performance. This can lead to additional maintenance or even premature and unexpected asset failure in the future.
Conventional breathers versus self-dehydrating breathers
Standard transformer breathers require personnel on-site to visually inspect for moisture levels, replace saturated silica gel, and maintain the breather. By comparison, the second generation of Qualitrol dehydrating breathers are self drying and the first universal maintenance free breather available.

Universal algorithm determines the best regeneration style based on the breathing pattern of the transformer.
